80% of global travelers actively prioritize sustainable travel, and targeted searches for "sustainable travel" have increased by 191% in the last three years alone. Travelers are putting their money where their mouth is, too. The sustainable market within travel and tourism is projected to grow by more than $300 billion in the next five years. Supporting this data, 75% of guests indicate they are willing to spend more money on sustainable travel.
All of this to say that embracing sustainable initiatives is no longer an option, but a necessary step to stay relevant. My mission is the demystification of sustainability within the hospitality eco-system, highlighting the vast benefits to be found, extending far beyond a happier and healthier planet. Complementing the broad appeal to prospective guests, sustainable and green initiatives foster streamlined operations, cost-reduction, and healthier bottom lines.
In pursuit of innovation and disruptive thinking, we must explore beyond the borders of our respective professions. Accordingly, my experience in hospitality-adjacent professions is not only helpful, but essential. More so than ever, the silos around human behavior are deconstructing. We stand to learn a lot from the trends of our guests' expectations beyond their leisure. Behaviors change rapidly, and this has accelerated in the post-pandemic world. One of the most pointed is the increasingly blurred lines between business and pleasure.
With experience in the corporate workplace profession, I offer unique insight into employee expectations for the workplace, which is becoming increasingly hospitality-driven.
